Samtavro (XI) – the Architectural Monument, Episcopal Church of first half of the XI century in Mtskheta, to the south road on the slope.


Svetitskhoveli (XI) – the most important monument of Georgian culture, art and architecture in Mtskheta. Based upon the different sources and summing up the various data it was defined that Svetitskhoveli was built for 19 years (1010-1029 yy.). The construction period (beginning of the XI century) coincided with the most difficult and interesting epoch of Georgian History. At that time the feudalism was at the highest level of development. The construction of the first church building coincided with the adoption of Christianity by the Kingdom of Kartli.

Shio mgvime

Shio mgvime (VI) is located 40 km. from Tbilisi in Mtskheta region, on the left bank of the Mtkvari River. It was founded at the beginning of II half of the VI century by one of Asuryan Fathers Shio. According to the sources, Shio passed last years of his life in a dark and deep cave. After the death he was buried there according to his will.


Bochorma Saint George Church (X) - Saint George Church is in Tianeti Municipality, on the left bank of the Ivri River, in the courtyard of Bochorma Castle nested at the high mountain. The church dates from the X century. According to the plan, it is a six-apse central domed building.


The Virgin Church of Bodorni (XV) in Dusheti Municipality is located 5 km. south-east of Dusheti on the mountain. The information of church construction is found in the script on the south facade of the church according to which the church was built on the ruins of old temple by the son of Aragvi Dukes (Eristavi) – Mitropane and Sakhltsukhutsesi - Qaikubat Kobiashvili in 1417.


Gergeti – is the Georgian architectural complex surrounded by the enclosure in Kazbegi Municipality, 2200 meter above sea level. The complex includes Domed Trinity Church (30th of the XIV century), Bell Tower (second half of the XIV century) and Council (the XV century). The term “Gergeti” in its name is conditioned by the location where the temple is erected. The early village Gergeti was built on the left bank of the Tergi River and Administrative Center of Historical Ravine – Stepantsminda was on the right bank. The temple was built to the left side on Gergeti territory where there was the village. For a long time one of Holiness Relics of Georgian Christians – Cross of Saint Nino was placed there. The temple shared the honesty of its possession with Svetitskhoveli and Tbilisi Sioni.

Dariali Ravine

Dariali Ravine – the antecedent section of the River Tergi Ravine in Kazbegi region. The ravine is cut in 1000 m depth in axial zone of the Caucasus and passes through rocky gate to the side ridge. It begins from the mouth of the Chkheri River and ends to Zemo Larsi (length 11 km.). The most rocky and narrow is the part between the month of the Rivers Kabakhi and Khda. The ravine is made by palaeolithic granite gorge, crystalline shale. There is lack of soil and vegetable cover on the main part of steep plateau. The Military Road of Georgia passes through Dariali Ravine. There is a Georgian Architectural Monument - Dariali Castle in Dariali. One may see the remains of late feudal epoch. It seems the Castle had an entrance from the south. To the same side, there was a secret tunnel going to the river.


Sno – this is a native village of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, Ilia II.
